| The Art Loft is the home based studio of North GA artist Anita Elder nestled on 53 acres in the picturesque North Georgia Mountains. In a Separate working Studio, Elder conducts private art classes for various levels of artistic ability as well as hosting a full range of weekend workshops, bringing in a wide array of regional art instructors. TOUR EVENT: Sit back and relax with refreshments on the wraparound porch and enjoy a view of the lush landscape and a display of original artwork or join us in the studio where Elder and three other North Georgia artists will be conducting demos and have a wide range of original art available for purchase. Anita Elder considers herself a diverse artist. Her abilities range from Classis Plein Air landscapes, still life paintings and the abstraction of macro views of ordinary objects painted bigger than life. Having such a wide spectrum of various styles has helped Anita to become a well known artist in North Georgia and beyond. She is sought out by novice and experienced artist for private lessons and conducts workshops throughout the northeast area. Anita has been represented by many galleries and participated in private shows throughout the region. During her 25 years as an artist she has built a strong patron base and if often commissioned to paint specific request. Through her commitment to the visual arts Anita now finds herself involved with additional galleries, conducting weekly lessons, hosting and demonstrating at many workshops. Committed to constant growth as an artist she has studied with nationally recognized artist such as: Charles Walls, Bill Davidson, Albert Handell, Debra Nadelhoffer, Dee Beard Dean, Marc Chatov, Jim Fambrough, Sue Bailey, Barbara Lee Morrow, Carol Wiland, Lola Street, Bob Heirs Amanda Carder is one of the instructors at the Art Loft, Carder teaches workshops in Drawing, Studio Painting and Plein Air Painting where she takes her students out into the wonderful landscapes surrounding Dahlonega in the North Georgia mountains. Carder has spent 20+ years working in the field of Graphic Design and Advertising, specializing in print advertising and brand development. She credits this experience for the development of her eye for composition. Making the commitment to become a full time painter she has had the good fortune to study with such greats as David Leffel, Bill Davidson and Peggy Everett as well a several local instructors. Being voted into the Top forty in Greenwich Workshops SmallWorks National Competition twice, Carder had the prestigious honor of having both paintings published and marketed by Greenwich Workshops. She has also had paintings accepted in the Oil Painters of America’s National show two years in a row, made the Top 100 in Paint the parks national show which toured the country for two years and won several local awards including Best in show, 1st place in Painting and the award of Exceptional Merit in the Southeastern Plein Air Exhibit. Carders style is realism with an appreciation of impressionism. She has a fascination with light, reflection and movement, and whether she paints a landscape, a still life or a portrait, she hopes to include the viewer in her intriguing journey. Norma Hulsey will be one of the Art Lofts visiting Artist throughout the tour. Norma has been painting since the mid 60,s and drawing since childhood. Norma paints in watercolor and oils. The subject matter she enjoys painting ranges from floral, landscapes , and still-life. Norma’s work is available in galleries throughout the state of Georgia. She enjoys taking classes and perfecting her work. She will have Original art, and her specialty of Christmas cards, note cards and Christmas ornaments. Linda Conaway is a local North Georgia artist with 15 years of experience painting in oil. She sales her art in local galleries and has a list of art patrons seeking her work. She is a southern realist landscape painter. Linda will be demonstrating on Sunday with original art available for purchase. Please stop by and watch these professional artists at work. |
